FOUNDER & MANAGING DIRECTOR

Wiran Korala is the Founder and Managing Director of Galle Fort Capital. Throughout his career, he has been involved in all aspects of multifamily operations from deal sourcing, sourcing debt, debt compliance, sourcing equity from individual retail investors to working with institutional equity groups, asset management, tax compliance and dispositions. Since 2013 he has been involved in 25+ boutique multifamily repositions (2 to 30 units) and 5+ 100 unit+ multifamily buildings with transaction volumes more than $100M+.  

His passion for multi-family investment performance is based on his niche for detailed bottom-up due diligence, market analysis and acquisition of multifamily value-add opportunities and multifamily development opportunities. He actively participates in all acquisitions and management of Galle Fort Capital assets.  

Prior to working full time on Galle Fort Capital, he worked at Clear Sky Capital where he supported several functional groups within the organization over his tenure. He was an Associate Vice President focused on the Firm’s 100+ unit multifamily platform working on underwriting, financial modeling, asset management, sourcing joint venture equity, and disposition of investments. Previously, he was an Accounting and Finance Manager and supervised Clear Sky’s staff accountants on the preparation of financial statements and worked on proforma financial models that supported the sale of multifamily assets.  

Prior to joining Clear Sky Capital, Mr. Korala was a Corporate Finance and Restructuring Consultant with global management consulting firm FTI Consulting, Inc.  His client engagements primarily focused on corporate restructure, budgeting and cashflow analysis, liability evaluation and contract negotiations. Prior to FTI Consulting, he was a Senior Associate within Ernst & Young’s Assurance Services practice. During his 4-year tenure, Mr. Korala served on various audit teams and worked with public and private companies across hospitality and healthcare industries. He tested procedures related to valuation models, managed client relationships across staffing levels and mentored junior team members. 

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Institute of Management Accountants. Mr. Korala received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, Magna Cum Laude, and has his Master of Accounting degree with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and passed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level II exam.
